That Workout That You Skipped…

Hey, mama!

When is the last time you skipped your workout? Don’t be shy. We’ve all been there.

Maybe we don’t have enough time or we’re too tired. Maybe we don’t like the workout or we hate working out altogether. Or maybe our kids interrupt us or our spouse doesn’t give us the time to do it!

While all of those are reasons that we can quit working out…they’re also all the reasons why you should be working out every single day!

Today, I want to tell you why!

If you don’t know me, I’m Rachael. As the mom of six and an avid believer in fitness, I help moms lose weight while also saving time and being able to eat some cheat foods here and there! I help moms shift their mindset so that they can lose weight and have the confidence, energy, and all the other good stuff that comes with feeling good about your body.

When you think about working out, is it just about your body? Sure, we all want those strong midsections and toned arms, but what about the other stuff?
What about the mental, physical, and emotional things that working out brings into our life?

You see, when you skip a workout, you’re really skipping out on SO much more.

Before we start, I want to make something super clear. I’m not saying you need to go to the gym and spend two hours there every day. All that I’m asking is for you to spend 30 minutes a day on this. Do it in your living room, in your basement, outside, wherever. Because your body and your mind will THANK YOU.

Okay, let’s get started with these reasons!

1. Working out is good for your mind.

I cannot tell you how many of life’s problems I have solved during a workout! Your mind is full of endorphins, you’re sweating, you’re breathing heavy, and you can sort all the things out in your mind while you’re working out. It releases a lot of stress for your mind, helps clear your brain, and just gives you that time to yourself that you need.

Give your mind the TLC it needs, especially as a busy mama!

2. Working out helps you deal with stress.

Working out has been a lifesaver as a mom. I’m a huge believer that that little bit of time that you take for yourself every day does amazing things for your mind. Working out gives you the ability to deal with stress easier.

This means you’re not going to yell at your kids as much because you’ve had that alone time. This is crucial!

3. Working out gives you energy.

We’ve all got those things we want to do for or with our kids, yet we lack the energy to do so. Maybe for you, this is cooking more meals together, chasing after them outside on the playground, or being able to read them a book when it’s bedtime. Whatever it is, you’re going to have more energy to do so throughout the day. As a mom, this is HUGE!

4. Working out helps you feel HAPPIER.

One of the reasons they can’t work out that I often hear from moms is that their spouses aren’t necessarily all-in. What this might look like is a spouse who doesn’t want you taking time away from family or who doesn’t want to interact with the kids while you work out. Maybe these feelings are even coming from YOU!

The thing is, though, it’s important to learn that you are a much happier person, mom, and spouse when you’re working out regularly. I remember personally, working out helped me fit into my clothes and just feel overall BETTER about myself. When my husband realized this, he was much more supportive and encouraged me to get those workouts in every day because it affected me so much.

5. Your confidence level is going to SOAR.

By working out and feeding your body well, you’re going to lose weight, tone your muscles, and fit into your clothes better! While confidence can come from within, it can also come from just feeling great about yourself!

6. Working out helps you eat better.

Working out, especially first thing in the morning, can set the tone for the rest of your day. When you work out first thing in the morning, it’s really, really hard to put junk in your body after you’ve done that. I don’t think I’ve been able to eat a donut or a syrupy set of pancakes for breakfast in years! By starting your day out right with the workout, you’ll be more likely to eat healthier and commit to the healthy lifestyle you’re taking on throughout the rest of your day.

7. Working out helps you LOOK better!

I’m not just talking about that hot, toned body you get from working out. I’m also talking about the healthier skin and nails that are a result of eating healthier and sweating all the toxins and gunk out of your system! This is just a bonus on top of all of those muscles you’re gaining.

Working out really is a super beneficial aspect to add into your life. It starts a cycle of commitment to looking good and feeling good. It gives you results that go far beyond just physical appearance.

While yes, working out is good for your body and will help you lose weight and gain muscle, it’s going to do so, so much more for you than just that.

Which one of these resonates with you the most? Which one do you feel like you need the most help with? Let me know. As always, I’m here to help.

I’d also love to invite you to share this with a friend. Because exercise is good for EVERY body!
